Lack of Discipline ➡️ More Distraction

If we are going to be true disciples of Christ, then we are required to be disciplined in our actions. If we can’t show self-discipline then how can God trust us with our assignment?

Are you constantly turning the alarm off at 5am for prayer time that He has called you to do? Do you put on the Tv or talk on the phone for hours instead of immersing yourself in the Word for hours? Are you spending 5min a day reading and worshipping right before you go to bed and usually fall asleep in the middle?

This is all part of being disciplined for a life in Christ. The less disciplined we are the more distractions we allow to come into our life. A lot of times, it’s distractions we create ourselves, TV, family, phone, social media, games, etc. As we move away from being focused on Him and focus on our distractions, this allows the gateway for the enemy to open up. He is able to utilize our thoughts, doubt, worry, fear, insecurities so easily because we are no longer focused on keeping Holy Spirit from and center allowing Him to captivate our thoughts. We have replaced His thoughts with worldly distractions.

Where are you lacking discipline? Where has God called you to focus on Him more in your life? What are your distractions that your allowing to take your focus on Him, even in for a few minutes?

I can see!

Acts 22:12-13

““A man named Ananias came to see me. He was a devout observer of the law and highly respected by all the Jews living there. He stood beside me and said, ‘Brother Saul, receive your sight!’ And at that very moment I was able to see him.”

Saul was blinded by the light of God and Ananias went to visit him in Damascus and told Saul to receive his sight.

At that moment Saul was renewed. He was made new as a follower of Christ and for his salvation. He went from Saul to Paul. Many times God has to blind us with His glorious light in order for us to be renewed for our salvation. He may send someone to open our eyes or the Holy Spirit will open them for us. Either way we are called to open our eyes and speak our testimony. In that moment we are made new, we are to surrender our whole self to God and be disciples for the Word of God. Are you ready to regain your sight? Are you ready for your new name?

Do unto others…

You can treat people not how they treat you, but based on how God loves you, when you know the love of God. It’s no longer the worldly view of “treat others how they treat you”. Once you come to know Gods love for you and how much He loves you, your able to treat others based on just that truth alone. We are able to be servants just as Jesus was our greatest servant leader. We can be the example of Christ.

Luke 6:31

“Do to others as you would have them do to you.”

Are you a doer or sitter?

As we continue to pray for revival, let’s not forget to do the one thing that God asks and expects of us, to tell others about Him and who He is. So often we “wait” for God to move, but He firsts needs to see us make the first move to make sure He can trust us, that our faith is aligned with our heart and our heart is aligned with His. Allow the Father to move through us by showing Him that we mean what we say when we say YES to God! We need to pray, listen and do. It requires action, so others can come to Jesus through you. He will use you for revival in your family, relationships, marriage, church so start now by speaking His Truth, especially to those He has sent to you. So today let’s be doers of followers of Christ!

Have a Blessed day!

Are you really double-minded?

We must cultivate the soil of our mind and uproot any beliefs, strongholds that prohibit your intimate relationship with Christ. Begin the process of renewing your mind with the Word of God, as you are able now to plant the seed in the newly tilled soil that can now allow for growth and maturation. However, growth of any seed can only take place with water and sun. You can not be without one or else the maturation process of the seed will cease. A spiritual seed is no different, the Holy Spirit is the water and the glory of God is the light. (Galatians 5:22) You have to accept the Spirit into your heart or else the seed will die and wither into nothing.

The heart is the source of where life from from and unless it is pure your seed will never fully mature to what God intended. (Proverbs 4:23) You have to allow the Holy Spirit to cleanse every spec of your heart, especially the dark hidden holes that you believed no one could see. You can pray, study and read all you want (which is great), but unless you have allowed the Spirit of God into your heart it will fall on deaf ears.

Surrender is a bold word that requires us to act, we must physically spiritually emotionally let go and let God. For many, who have a stronghold of control this is not an easy task. But the real questions are how bad do you want God, how much do you desire/crave His presence in your life, how deep do you want your relationship to go with Him, how much do you even trust God (that’s a biggie!), do you believe faith comes with obedience? Answer these honestly, from your heart not your mind, and you will know if your ready to fully surrender and let God take over every part of who you are.
